for sara.

So it’s 3:08 am and I can’t sleep. I was going through the usual routine of visiting all my graphic design and motion graphic blogs for cool eye candy when I come across the sweetest and most adorable thing ever.

I think it holds some great ideas for Sara. I vote for the breathtaking pyrotechnic display. I mean, that’s totally how I’ll do my invitations. Fridge mags are sooo yesterday. Permanent burn marks on your living room wall… now that’s what I’m talking about. :)

So after watching this I checked out their site and found a video that Jeffrey made for Natasha. Sweetest thing ever!

That’s 11 kinds of adorable right there.

macbook touch.

Have you guys seen this?

iPhones everywhere are going to have an inferiority complex. As well they should.

On that note. My perfect Edward still hasn’t shipped. It’s supposed to ship Friday though, so I’m less than a week away from holding it my arms. :)

pretty lights.

This makes the pictures that Jenny and I did look like child’s play.

Jenny… we have to step up our game.

the sounds of the gates of hell.

This was too adorable not to post.

Also, what’s up with his hair?! He’s got to stop touching it… It’s totally bugging me…

comic con 2008.

Comic Con starts today. The Twilight online press junket is today along with the panel discussion. Today would have also been my interview with them if I had attended and the ABC family afterparty but let’s not dwell on things… *next Emma… next year…*
Here’s a couple pics that have surfaced from Summit’s booth. Everything is still in setup mode. Can’t wait to see the pics that hit the web later tonight… should be good stuff!

new lappy.

I ordered her tonight. I can’t wait. I’m now brainstorming names for her. I leave the floor open for suggestions.

The mac lappy is being retired since it’s a g4 and I can’t upgrade the OS on it… which means I can’t run anything newer than photoshop 7, illustrator 10, etc… so it’ll be nice to get the software I have on my current pc on it for when I’m out of town.

comic con. again.

Well I got the most painful of the Comic Con emails….  I was offered the chance to interview the cast of Twilight on the 24th. I officially hate my life. I hope they’ll be there next year, because I’m without question doing this next year. No more regrets. This probably just needs to be something I plan to do every year.

more twilight.

I thought the girls might want to see this one. Namely Jenny who’s adoration for the books seems to now mirror my own. :)

I’ll keep you guys posted as more surfaces.

burn notice.

Don’t get too used to all these updates. :)

In all seriousness, if you’re not watching this show you should be.

random thoughts. twilight. publicity.

Here’s the rest of the EW Twilight article.

Page 2 of this I’m sure Jenny will find assuming based on the conversation I brought up last weekend. :) I about spit out my drink when I read it. It’s sad I know.

That being said, there’s an independent bookstore over in Decatur that is going all out for the release party. I think I’m going to go to this one instead of the one at Borders just merely because this one sounds absolutely crazy awesome. I mean awkward prom dancing? How can you pass that up?

“The store will be transformed into a gothic fantasy wonderland prom setting, decked out entirely in black and red. Themed food treats and drinks will be readily available (including cookies for fans on both sides of the vampire/werewolf split, and the in-house invented “repuscular cookie” oozing red filling); games, activities, and giveaways will be plentiful; and awkward high school prom dancing will be encouraged. For the latter, suitably appropriate, danceable goth music will be spun, and live local band The Wayne Fishell Experiment will be re-inventing themselves as Ferosha Akoustika for a special live set of fun-indie-folk-goth-pop leading up to the midnight on-sale of Breaking Dawn, the most hotly anticipated book of the year.”

IDEA

So the event I did with TNT went over great, and I was thinking about contacting this bookstore and seeing if I could do a roughly similar event with it. Interview fans and whatnot, give them a FanBolt postcard, and then they all flock to the site to see their name and quote used. Worked for my last piece, and I think it’s a fairly good formula. It’d be great publicity for the store as well, so I would think they’d be excited. It also means that I should try to relaunch the site by August 1st…. which I don’t know if it’s doable, but I think I’m going to aim for it.

It’s my target audience… and I have a decent sized fanbase for this on the site anyways for the books and movie, so I think this would be an excellent tie-in.

Thoughts/Suggestions are welcome. :)

Update * Just heard back from the store and they are super excited about the idea! :)
