true blood.

My newest addiction…

It’s everything that Twilight lacks. *coughs* :) I was skeptical at first, but it won me over before the end of the first episode.

summer recap #2

Round 2….

You guys always hear me talking about the Mart. Here’s a picture I snagged last time I was there. Doesn’t nearly communicate the size of the place though…

I love him. :)

I’ve also became an incredible bowler. Sadly it was 2am and I did not get to finish this game. It would have been crazy awesome…. :( Notice how I’ve pointed out the scores of the guys in the bowling league. ;)

summer 08 recap #1(aka all the pictures I just downloaded)

So I finally downloaded pictures from the Nikon. Meaning I’ve got a ton of blog updating to do…

This summer I started sewing and crocheting. Andy’s cousin Veronica taught me the crocheting. I’ll throw a picture of the snazzy scarf up when it’s finished. Veronica will be proud. Here’s a shirt that I altered from an XXL down to fit me. I tapered it to have a custom fit and be a bit more of a tunic with a punk-esque neckline.

Twilight release party that FanBolt covered in Decatur. (Beth, Nic, Joe, Sara, Jenny, and myself) Don’t we look slick in our shirts? :) Credit to Jenny’s cam for this pic. Remember the girl that took this pic? Her friends and her kept asking to take pictures of us. They were super sweet.

Their farm flooded this summer. It was horrible the amount of destruction… Here’s where the levy broke.

My favorite coffee shop in Quincy.

I went antiquing with Andy’s grandmother, aunt, and cousin. I freaked out when I found glasses (Betty and Barney) that I had gotten from Pizza Hut in 1st grade.

Round 2 coming shortly!

boston herald quote.

I’m quoted in the Boston Herald today!

Emma Loggins, founder and editor of FanBolt.com, said that even if a geek is getting air time on a teen drama, you probably won’t even realize he’s the dork.

“By no means do they fit the mold of previous nerds from shows like ‘Saved by the Bell,’ ” she said. “In today’s television, even the nerds are cooler and defined by their enjoyment of comic books instead of their test scores. Networks are selling an image, and thus have to redefine social stereotypes in order to create an ideal look for their shows.”

I close out the article. :) It’s at the bottom of this page, then the quote is on the page 2.

color white seasonless.

As many of you know the fashion designer I work with, Ellie Mae, was recently featured in AJC. Just came across it online here.It was a huge full page spread in the August 31st issue featuring multiple photos shot at the Georgia Terrance Hotel.

interview.

I just interviewed Simon Cowell.

I love my job.

stars, satellites, and meteors.

It was a couple nights short of a full moon, but I still got some great shots being so far away from the city. The satellite and meteor are easily spottable. This was shot at 800 ISO for a 1 minute exposure.

sunsets on the farm.

I’ve been up in Quincy, Illinois for the last week with Andy visiting his grandparents farm.  I’ll upload more pictures later, but this one is the sunset over their farm from their house up on the bluff. The water you see is from the flood that occurred earlier this summer. It was horrible seeing all the damage that had been done…

a million miles.

When life gets crazy and your to-do list seems never ending, music is the only thing that keeps making sense. It has an amazing ability to transport you, whether you want it to or not. It never fails… every time I hear this one song by Sigur Ros, I’m always a million miles away from where ever I am. It seems like the very second I close my eyes and let the song flood over me I’m suddenly out west driving through the desert with the top down. It’s a cloudless night with a new moon. And for those 4 minutes and 29 seconds, life is absolutely, undeniably perfect.

This moment starts at 34:46.

This is from their performance at the MoMA. For those of you that haven’t experienced the magic of this band in concert, I urge you to come with me next time they are in town. They will blow your mind.

for sara.

So it’s 3:08 am and I can’t sleep. I was going through the usual routine of visiting all my graphic design and motion graphic blogs for cool eye candy when I come across the sweetest and most adorable thing ever.

I think it holds some great ideas for Sara. I vote for the breathtaking pyrotechnic display. I mean, that’s totally how I’ll do my invitations. Fridge mags are sooo yesterday. Permanent burn marks on your living room wall… now that’s what I’m talking about. :)

So after watching this I checked out their site and found a video that Jeffrey made for Natasha. Sweetest thing ever!

That’s 11 kinds of adorable right there.
