skating in asheville.

Andy and I made the paper up here. :) The two images are below.

Along with children, there were parents, grandparents and couples. Andrew Kerr, 24, and Emma Loggins, 25, were making slow loops around center of the rink. They had no trouble identifying the better skater.

“Emma is world-class, and I can barely keep myself upright,” Kerr said.

Loggins, who learned to skate in Atlanta, has competed in figure skating before and said she plans to do it again. As for advice, she suggested tying on skates tightly, keeping laces from dragging on the ice and “If you fall, don’t put your hands out.”

That’s to avoid skate blades, she said.

feathers.

In usual J and E tradition, we have craft time tonight on the last night of my visit. I came down to Statesboro last week for J’s graduation and closing show, which was awesome. So proud of her! :)

Today, after hitting up the movies…. Four Christmases is awesome btw. We had craft time. I made a feather clip for my hair like the 24 dollar one I saw last night at Urban Outfitters in Savannah. Only differences, my is handmade and the materials cost me less than a dollar. Take that Urban!

Here’s some pics from my lappy’s webcam :)

true blood.

HBO: “Don’t worry, True Blood will be back in Summer of 2009″

You know what HBO, that’s seriously not cool! You can’t leave my show like that, and that better not be Lafayette in the car…. because if it is, I’m boycotting your network!

post surgery.

As most of you have heard by now… Roxy had surgery on Monday. She’s had this bump on her side for quite sometime. I took her to the vet about in May when it first showed up and they told me it was nothing to worry about. It got really big last week, then shrank back down again, so I figured I’d take her to be sure everything was still alright since another bump was appearing as well. The vet checked out the first one and said it was benign. He checked the second one, the one that has been there since May and told me it was a mass cell tumor which was releasing histamine into her system. They said it needed to be removed asap, and then told me they had time to do it that afternoon. I sat there in shock as I was expecting them to tell me that it was nothing just like they did in May.

I left Roxy for the surgery and went into worry/freak out mode for the rest of the day until they called me to tell me everything had gone fine. They sent the tumor off to the lab to find out the grade and to see if they got all of it. Keep your fingers crossed.

I picked her up today. The surgery didn’t slow her down at all. She’s been wanting to run and jump all day. I’ve had to keep her in my lap or in the crate to prevent this. When she tries to stretch she makes this sad little whimpering noise and then looks back at the staples and then at me… like she’s asking me why it hurts and if I’ll make it better. It breaks my heart. :( She has staples in her belly and stitches under that. They have to stay in for 2 weeks, and then even after that she can’t jump for another 1 to 2 weeks. You all know Roxy pretty well, so you know the challenge that this is going to be.

I took a picture of the staples with my phone. It’s a little intense so beware. – View Here

I’m so glad I took her back though, and I just hope that we got this in plently of time.

the shirts.

These are the shirts that you’ve all heard me freaking out over for the last 2 weeks, between the design changes and the nightmare that was FedEx with the shipping…. This is the shirt that Rodney Atkins may be wearing tonight during his performance at the CMA’s. Ellie told me what he wanted, and I designed it for an option tonight and for him to wear on tour. Supposedly he loves it. If he does wear one of these tonight, it will be an amazing moment. :) But I’m not hold my breath. :)

*Update* So he didn’t wear the shirt. Which sucks, but hopefully when his tour starts up I’ll be able to round up some images of him wearing it then. :)

happy halloween.

Party hard for me tonight my blog readers…. Party hard.

Oh Jensen. I love you and your amazingly hot car.

write up.

emmaloggins.jpg

The Toilet Paper Entrepreneur did a write up me. It’s a pretty cool blog featuring different entrepreneurs and information about their start-ups. The toilet paper thing is their gimmick which is kind of cute. They wanted me to be creative with the image, incorporate toilet paper, and it couldn’t be in the office. I threw Roxy in for the “awe” factor. :)

domestic.

This post is for Jenny… The girl who tells me to notify the fire department before I start cooking. :)

Jenny- This documents that night. :)

(And before anyone harasses me about my glasses and my perfect 20/20 vision, it should be noted that I was in front of the computer all day and the glare was killing me. Wearing those glasses are the only thing that helps the resulting headache.)

asheville.

Here’s the pictures from the Asheville weekend. We had a great weekend staying with Andy’s aunts and uncle. There was horseback riding through the valley and on the mountain ridge (I even galloped), tennis playing (which we both sucked at), amazing food, even more amazing wine, and just all in all an awesome trip. The only thing that would have made it better was if we spent more time up there.

On our way.
