Emma Loggins, founder and editor of the entertainment site FanBolt.com, sees it from the fans’ point of view. She wasn’t surprised when Christina Aguilera and Jennifer Lopez sold photos of their babies to magazines. “For some celebrities, it is about the money, whereas other celebrities take a more honorable route and donate that money to charity.”
It’s not bad necessarily, she says. It’s just a sign of the public’s interest in these celebrities, and their need to see them humanized.
Tons more of these to come. They just came in. I wanted to go ahead and get this one up because I know Nic is dying for it. I blurred out some of the background people. :)
More to come with the other actors and of course Virginia updates as soon as I find the cord to download the pics. :) I don’t think I stopped smiling all weekend. :-D
A brief overview of the trip. I’ll have pictures from the set of Burn Notice, the series I actually went on the trip for, later this week. But here’s a brief overview…
Thursday- Arrive in Miami, go to South Beach, Sleep 4 hours, go to dinner with the creator of the series… and eat the best steak of my life. :)
Friday- Breakfast with the press, interviews & set tours, lunch with the star of the series, more interviews and set tours, shopping in Coconut Grove, and dinner at the Grove (2nd best lasagna of my life).
Saturday- Sleep in, lunch at Miami beach, swimming, sleeping, dinner on Ocean Blvd in South Beach, lounge, and crazy elite nightclub thanks to the crazy rich British peeps we met.
Sunday- Coral Castle and the Keys

The Beach:
Before the burn:
After:
Clearly I wore the wrong swimsuit. :) Hopefully these tan lines can be fixed after I recover from this burn. :)
Coral Castle (if you don’t know what this is, Google it. It’s pretty cool stuff. I’ve wanted to see it for years. It was pretty interesting, but not worth a special trip unless you’re already in route to the Keys):
The Keys:
The view we had during dinner last night:
The trip was amazing…. staring at that view last night made it hard to think about coming back today. I would have stayed forever if I could have. Nic was an awesome travel buddy, even though his burn is going to probably turn into a crazy dark tan. In the meantime, I’m living on painkillers for the next few days until I have the full range of motion back in my arms. :)
As many of you know, I absolutely love Baz Luhrmann’s film. The next one, Australia , comes out the end of this year…. and it looks every bit as amazing as his previous works.
So I give you epic trailer and all.
After viewing this trailer, I’ve officially awarded Hugh Jackman a temporary place in my top 5 hot guys list. We’ll have to wait to this fall to see if that will stick. :)
I’m back! At last! I feel like I’ve been gone for a month… The HOW Design Conference which lasted from Sunday through yesterday was absolutely incredible. I’ve arrived home inspired, anxious to try out everything that I learned, and just plan excited about design. This convention seriously is fuel for a designer, when you feel drained and like you’re not capable of designing anything fresh anymore… which grad school has been known to do to you, going to HOW is the cure. 3 days of checking out new products, seeing designers and design firms showcase their portfolios, amazing speakers, how-to’s from amazing talents, various social events, business marketing sessions, vendor floor (tons of freebies!), and so much more… it’s just amazing. And you know it has to be amazing if it gets me up at 6:30 in the morning. :) Over 4,000 people attended this year, it’s been the biggest conference to date!
Here’s a couple pictures from the event.
Waiting on a couple of the main sessions to start-
Opening Keynote-
One Small Corner of Resource Center Maddness-
Hanging out at a social- (can you find me? Hint – My shirt should give me away)
I’ll have a couple more pictures later when I download my other camera. Not to mention more scenic pictures from the following locations:
- Boston, MA
- Cambridge, MA
- Salem, MA
- Freeport, ME
- Bar Harbor, ME
- Plymouth, MA
- Hyannis, MA
The only thing I’m dreading about being back is the unpacking….
