So I’m finally taking my first photography class. I made Nic and Andy drive around the city looking for good places to take photos that would work for the assignments, Here’s two of my faves:

I think the one of Andy is my favorite, I just love the composition on it as well as the different textures. But the coloring in the Highland sign pic is quite beautiful as well.

internship.

I got an fashion internship for summer and fall with an incredible designer.

Life is good. :)

school.

Josh visited my school today. :)

not too shabby mix.

Alright, so keep in mind when listening to this, that I had to include an insane amount of elements in this project to show I knew how to use all the areas of the program. So it may not sound perfect, but it’s not too shabby either.

Hence why I call it the “Not Too Shabby” mix.

I wrote part of this from scratch as we had to write sheet music for Acid Pro to produce a midi file that we could then change anyway we wanted to.

Comments welcome. :) Keep in mind it’s my first venture in to the world of audio production.

done

Finished my first semester of graduate school. Rock on. :) I already got my grade in Principles of Usability. An A. Yep, that’s how I roll. :) Typography is the class I think I am borderline in though, A or B, could swing either way thanks to the horror that is known as Motion Graphics.

Anywho, so begins the one month of FanBolt and freelancing. :) Still trying to figure out my summer load, I don’t want to have too much going on when I hit the road in July for the cross country road trip with Andy. Plus, I got a lot of work to do with FanBolt before the fall tv season.

I’ve been so incredibly bored this evening…. which I guess is good because I’ve got a lot accomplished… besides all my posts here. :) Anyway, I need to paste this somewhere so on the 27th I can register for summer and fall classes.

usability analogy

hehe. I found this excerpt from the lecture in my usability class amusing, and oh so true:

“Unfortunately, much of the Web is like an anthill built by ants on LSD….”

memories of a june portfolio show and graduation

So I was talking earlier to Andy about how my most favorite teacher ever is coming down sometime in the next few months for her graduation. I’m going to show her the sights of the city, not exactly sure what that includes yet… but I’ll think of something. Anyways, she was super awesome during my time at the AI, and she wrote me an incredible recommendation letter for graduate school. So when you guys hear me mention Sharon. This is who I am talking about. :)

Here I am setting up for the portfolio show with Sharon and David, my second most favorite teacher.

I went out for drinks after the ceremony with my classmates Christina and Ryan. Sharon and some of the other teachers met up with us.

And while we’re at it, here I am receiving my Best in Show award and receiving my diploma. :)

art school student

cimg1147.jpg

So I’m now officially a student of the Academy of Art University in the Computer Arts New Media MFA program. Saying that I’m stoked I got in is a bit of an understatement. They’ve hooked me up with scholarships, opted me out of classes, and been just freaking awesome. The school has an incredible reputation as well. My friend at New Line Cinema was telling me how the Academy and RISD are the top two art schools in their opinion when it comes to job hiring, so I’m extremely excited about starting classes next Monday. From my understanding, my thesis will be a huge web project and not a written project, which I’m stoked about, and I already know what I’m doing for it. The school gives me 6 classes to take in whatever field I want to take to help with the project as well, so I’ll be able to take some graphic design courses, some fashion illustration courses (yes, I do need this for my project), and some digital photography courses as well. They also have a brief study abroad program that lasts 3 weeks where you can go museum hoping around Europe. I’m definitely going to be looking at this, as I’d love to do a study abroad program even if it’s only 3 weeks. And not to mention, art museums and I go together like wine and cheese.

Here’s my current class schedule. I’m considering switching out the audio class though for an art history class that’s required. I still have to talk with my advisor some more about the work load, because I’m going to have a lot of web work to do in Feb, and I don’t want to be pulling my hair out.

So I’m officially a graduate student. Rock on. :)

stressed

Wow. I suck at keeping this updated. I’ll try to do better I promise. Things have just been insane with me lately. I’ve been taking 2 classes over a full load in order to finish by the 13th of this month, and it’s slowly killing me. :)

Anyway, I have a panoramic of my room due for class tomorrow, here’s the rough draft. I still have to fix up the seams a bit more, but now I need sleep.
