that teenage feeling

“I don’t care if forever never comes
‘Cause I’m holding out for that teenage feeling
I’m holding out for that teenage feeling”

Those lyrics are from a Neko Case song, and the post on Tuesday got me to thinking about that. I wrote that down back after splitting with my ex. It’s been stuck on a post-it note ever since in my journal. I pulled it out the other night. Doesn’t really apply anymore. :)

summed up in one sentence.

ā€œI’m not going to throw on the Hoff just because I left Neko Case in the car.ā€

And that my friends, sums me up entirely. If you don’t get it, then you most likely don’t get me.

I won’t settle for pictures of Paris; I want to see it. And I certainly won’t settle for crappy music (though amusing music videos) when I want the incredible hidden jewel that most people overlook. I won’t settle for what’s here in front of me when I know exactly what I want. So what is that you ask? I’m a pretty simple girl. I just want to see the world, smell the roses, be happy, be in love, and be successful. If I have that, I’ll have the world.

With that being said, Veronica Mars is becoming a great source of quotes and witty one liners.

“I watch the stars from my window sill
The whole world is moving and I’m standing still”

Do you ever feel like that? Sometimes it seems that time goes by so slowly, then when you really stop to think about it, you realize that it’s flying by… yet when you stop to realize that, you feel like you’re standing still again. I will be nearing 26 when I finish up my MFA… that’s 4 years to 30. I still feel 14….

“Art is not what you see, but what you make others see” – Edgar Degas

And on that note, I have officially applied to the Computer Arts New Media MFA program at The Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Wish me luck!

living

“Living is like tearing through a museum. Not until later do you really start absorbing what you saw, thinking about it, looking it up in a book, and remembering – because you can’t take it all in at once.” – Audrey Hepburn

newly discovered quote

“Living is a form of not being sure, not knowing what next or how… The artist never entirely knows. We guess. We may be wrong but we take leap after leap in the dark.” – Agnes de Mille

love

love

“I will have poetry in my life. And adventure. And love. Love above all. No…not the artful postures of love, not playful and poetical games of love for the amusement of an evening, but love that… over-throws life. Unbiddable, ungovernable-like a riot in the heart, and nothing to be done, come ruin or rapture. Love…. like there has never been before.” – Shakespeare In Love
