apparently there are many more of me now.

So I have known that my names Emily and Emma have been popular for quite sometime. What I didn’t know was to the extent that they were popular. When I was born in ‘83, neither Emily nor Emma were in the top 100 names. My name was pretty unique at the time. In fact the top names were the ones that you had 4 of in every class you had from elementary through high school:

Jennifer
Jessica
Amanda
Ashley
Sarah

But what is most disturbing is the popularity of my name since the year 1993. The http://www.ssa.gov just released 2008’s most popular names which brought my attention to this series of uncreative parental choices.

Does anyone else notice that the only names that gave mine competition were that of characters names from Grey’s Anatomy?

I’m not happy with the masses naming their kids Emily and Emma. I quite enjoyed the fact that I never met others with my name.

Argh.

old place… new price.

So I finally settled up with the old apartment place. It’s over and done with, and they’ve put it back on the market. I made it a point to look to see what they were putting it back on the market at…. and no surprise it’s DRASTICALLY less than what they wanted me to renew for… which was laughable being over $1,400 a month. My unit was the Peachtree/B3 floorplan, and it is currently the only one available of that floorplan.

500 days of summer.

Summer films are starting to advertise like crazy, but the one film I’m absolutely dying to see is called 500 Days Of Summer.

Zooey Deschanel is another film that looks quite good too called Gigantic.

find the error.

I found this amusing. It was the first thing I noticed on this page.

the future of marketing.

The future of marketing…. hilarious idea… as long as it’s never you. :)

fark.

So FanBolt got a little influx of traffic on the 7th and I was tracking down the source of it only to find one of my articles was featured on the showbiz section of… FARK! And I got an “amusing” tag. I’m a happy camper. :) How cool is that?

I’m achieving links here since they only link the last week off the site, but you can see it under July 7th here: http://www.fark.com/showbiz/ and a direct link to the comments here: http://forums.fark.com/cgi/fark/comments.pl?IDLink=3718435

Now I need to figure out how to get on here more and how to get one of those graphics for FanBolt on there next to the article like everyone else has…

Research time.

how not to interview a celebrity.

So tomorrow afternoon I’ve interviewing Holly Hunter in conjunction with the series “Saving Grace”. The first thing I thought about when I confirmed for the interview was the horrible interview that Merry Miller did with her in season 1. Procastinating on work a bit, I decided to see if there had been any more horribly awkward celebrity interviews and I found this one. This is horrifying… and I can’t imagine how awful this girl must have felt…

cola.

I went a whole day without a drop. You guys should be proud…. or amazed…. or both. :)

snow day #2.

dscn4222.jpg

This is simply unheard of. Snow twice in one year? Much less one week! Enjoy it while it last my fellow Atlantians because it’ll be many years before we see anymore of this white substance falling from the sky that we see so much of it movies.

Today, Andy and I embarked on the creation of snow thing #2. This time, bigger visions, new techniques to apply… we were hopeful. Still, when one sees Pablo, they will undoubtedly know that he was made by southerns. With that being said, most people cannot say they have see such an artistically shaped snowman… this was completely intentional. *coughs*

Here’s the visual documentation of snow day #2.

Ladies and gentlemen… I give you Pablo.

Roxy was a bit unsure of his stability, she insisted on testing him out.

img_9476.jpg

Though Roxy’s testing was completely necessary as anyone could see that Pablo had extreme stability issues.

img_9504.jpg

Despite his flaws, I still found myself quite fond of the little guy.

img_9508.jpg

Looking at him brought on the need to ponder many of Picasso’s great creations.

We had a photo oppt with another resident who lives in the complex, she seemed very impressed with Pablo… but I mean, how could you not be impressed? He’s by the largest snowman that we’ve ever created, separately or together. Leonard anyone?

img_9459.jpg

And of course, we had to take a picture to document the completion of the trials and tribulation that filled the day.
