new #1.

The teenage girl inside me insisted that I document this. Viggo - you’re now #2. We’ll see if Josh Holloway holds my affections for the next 10 years …

I think I’m starting to realize a bit of a pattern in the guys I like…

And on that note - 7 more episodes and I’m completely caught up on Lost. :-)

I think I’m a bit of a fangirl now….

saturday night photos.

So I’ve been M.I.A due to our move…. which seemed like it took forever. :-)

We’re finally settled into the new place, and I’m almost caught back up on all the things I fell behind on. So regular updates will resume soon.

But to the point of the post! Saturday night, Andy, Nic, Justin, and myself hung out on the balcony taking photos and trying cool lighting techniques. We got some pretty cool shots which I’ve highlighted below.

summer 08 recap #1(aka all the pictures I just downloaded)

So I finally downloaded pictures from the Nikon. Meaning I’ve got a ton of blog updating to do…

This summer I started sewing and crocheting. Andy’s cousin Veronica taught me the crocheting. I’ll throw a picture of the snazzy scarf up when it’s finished. Veronica will be proud. Here’s a shirt that I altered from an XXL down to fit me. I tapered it to have a custom fit and be a bit more of a tunic with a punk-esque neckline.

Twilight release party that FanBolt covered in Decatur. (Beth, Nic, Joe, Sara, Jenny, and myself) Don’t we look slick in our shirts? :) Credit to Jenny’s cam for this pic. Remember the girl that took this pic? Her friends and her kept asking to take pictures of us. They were super sweet.

Their farm flooded this summer. It was horrible the amount of destruction… Here’s where the levy broke.

My favorite coffee shop in Quincy.

I went antiquing with Andy’s grandmother, aunt, and cousin. I freaked out when I found glasses (Betty and Barney) that I had gotten from Pizza Hut in 1st grade.

red.

The only hair color I have left to do is black again… but this time with a pink streak. Maybe I’ll hold off on that one till after Sara’s wedding. :)

done

Finished my first semester of graduate school. Rock on. :) I already got my grade in Principles of Usability. An A. Yep, that’s how I roll. :) Typography is the class I think I am borderline in though, A or B, could swing either way thanks to the horror that is known as Motion Graphics.

Anywho, so begins the one month of FanBolt and freelancing. :) Still trying to figure out my summer load, I don’t want to have too much going on when I hit the road in July for the cross country road trip with Andy. Plus, I got a lot of work to do with FanBolt before the fall tv season.

dark hair.

I forgot to mention on here (thought most of you already know and have seen it)… I now have dark red/brown hair and am definitely pleased with the results. I think it suits me much better. :)

forever young

I had several packages arrive for me today, and as I went to sign them out from the package room I noticed the pen was MIA. I asked one of the girls upfront for a pen, and the girl she was talking to (a future resident I presume) looks up at me and gives me this crazy look. The dialogue follows as this:

“You work here?” – Lady (The only reasoning I have for her thinking I worked at the apartment complex is the fact I was holding a clipboard to sign my packages out.)

“No” – Me

“She’s a resident. She’s just signing her packages out.” – Lady who works here

“I was about to say. She looks like she’s 13.” – Lady

*sighs*- Me

All I have to say is this, all of those people who keep pointing out that I still look like a teenager (especially that lady in NYC)…. Just go ahead and laugh it up. Because when I’m 30 and I still look 20…. Guess who is going to be laughing it up then. :)

augustana

Being an artist, I find it necessary to relate pieces of art (paintings, music, or movies) to various eras of my life. I could give you a song list that would totally cover all the major points of my life. I was unable to sleep last Wednesday night and found myself channel surfing for awhile; I came to a rest on VH1 where I discovered Augustana. They had the perfect song for last summer, especially the chorus. Just switch out California for Georgia and Los Angeles for Boston. :) I seriously considered moving to LA and starting completely fresh then. I almost did it. I don’t think anyone realized how close I was. I had two jobs to pick from with WB and ABC, a loft apartment with exposed brick walls all picked out, and I would have been able to surf the waves whenever I felt like it… My life would have changed pretty fast and pretty drastically if I had moved out there. It would have been extremely scary, moving across the country to a city where you only had business acquaintances and no friends. And as awesome as work would have been, I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t be as happy as I am now, and I’d probably be overworked and stressed out beyond belief. That’s how the entertainment industry works. I’m still too young for that I think.

Still though… I can’t stop listening to the chorus for multiple reasons… starts around 2:10.

I’m so glad I have FanBolt. :)

we started spring break early

So Heidi’s friend was in town from Texas, so we had to show her a good time on her last night. We started the evening with a couple drinks at my place, then we hit up Hole in the Wall, and Moondog’s. Let me just note. There is nothing as awesome as dancing with the best group of people in the world to Belinda Carlisle’s Heaven Is A Place On Earth. Absolutely nothing. :)
